If you have additional information (ex: specificity of piloting, various characteristics...) on the hang glider Phoenix 8 by Delta Wing Kites and Gliders, you can supplement his card by adding your comment or write to us :
I flew the Phoenix 8 (same colors as the photo), mostly form Big Tajunga and Escape Country. Flight characteristics; I was receiving approximately 8:1 glide ratio. Turns started slow and then would whip around. A little squirrelly to handle on the ground and in the air. It had great wind penetration and was able to fly in higher winds then most kites of the time.
I bought a junior model similar to pix with red tips in 78. It flew very well and I towed it at Cypress Gardens and other places too. Lots at Lookout Mtn Ga. Very stable and always flew well. Had no real dive recovery struts so I later added some I made but never tested and added dowels inside L/E for more strength behind crossbar. I liked it a lot.
